Work Training Center (WTC) has opened a new recycling center, Fair Street Recycling, in Oroville at 1245 Oro Dam Boulevard. Cash is paid for aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers with a CA redemption value. Cardboard, paper and other plastic containers are received as a donation.

WTC is a non-profit organization providing employment for local adults with disabilities. Fair Street Recycling has served Chico for over 20 years and is the only non-profit recycling center in that community.

Fair Street Recycling is open in Oroville Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30AM to 4PM. Fair Street Recycling is proud of the excellent customer service provided. Customers are helped with unloading materials and in bringing the materials to the scales.

Fair Street Recycling also operates a confidential document shredding service. After shredding at Feather River Opportunity Center, the material is baled and shipped for reprocessing into new material. Fees for shredding are based upon weight.

Fair Street Recycling offers community organizations the opportunity to raise money. With prior arrangements, an account can be set up for community members to direct the proceeds from their cans to a favorite cause. This includes churches, youth groups, sports teams, service clubs, and any other community group.

WTC provides a wide variety of employment opportunities for adults with disabilities throughout Butte County. In Oroville, operations include Feather River Industries, a commercial woodshop and Feather River Opportunity Center, which performs a wide array of assembly services for local businesses. In Chico, employment programs include Deer Creek Sewing, Prestige Landscape Services and Bear Mountain Production Services.

WTC is also places participants in competitive employment through Community Employment Services. Other WTC services include day programs at the Sierra Center in Oroville, Joe McGie Center in Chico and Creative Learning Center in Paradise.
