JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT

SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER/COMPANION

DEFINITION:           

Driver will transport clients to and from the various programs of the Work Training Center daily.  Hours will fluctuate due to periods of changes and routes assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Reports to the Transportation Coordinator. Supervises those clients entering, leaving and traveling on their bus. Represents Work Training Center in a positive manner while transporting clients in the community and in communicating with parents and care providers.  Must use independent judgement in responding to client needs.  Must obey all traffic laws and practice good safety procedures. Also responsible for adhering to guidelines and regulations in the WTC vehicle handbook. Responsible for all required reports, including daily mileage, attendance, safety checks and defect reports. Other duties may be assigned.

Require:

Pre-employment drug test. Willing to obtain California Class B driver’s license and current medical card.  Must be insurable by WTC’s carrier.  Must be 21 years of age or older.  Must have an excellent driving record.  Valid First Aid and CPR Certification. Candidates must pass post-offer, pre-employment functional evaluation.

SALARY:

Grade Level IV • Part-time, on-call position (no benefits)

Wage: $9.75/hour with benefits (upon successful completion of six-month introductory period). 50¢ per hour wage incentive upon attaining Class B license.
