At this Chico location, adults with severe disabilities receive community integrated training in social, vocational, and daily living skills. The goal is to increase and maintain independence, encourage decision making, and provide interaction between participants and persons without disabilities in the local community. A high staff ratio assists in individual acheivement.
Services are provided to persons who need constant supervision, may require assistance with toileting or feeding, do not need nursing services during program hours, are able to participate in community activities at least four hours weekly, and can function in a group setting of no less than 1:3 staff to consumer ratio.
Program services include:
- Communication skills
- Daily living and basic self care
- Behavioral and social adjustment
- Work adjustment and job skills training in the Center and small enclaves in the community
- Recreation and leisure activities
